The difference between a browser app. and a DAM app:
There is a lot of confusion over browser apps such as bridge and database-driven asset management applications like Expression Media. Basically browser apps are a good tool for looking at what is in a folder. They generally provide good tools for basic sorting with various levels of metadata editing.
DAM solutions are much more powerful providing a depth of tools, functions and controls well beyond those provided by browsers.
